Dementia Day - New Thoughts

This will be a full day event, running from 9 am until 4 pm, to be held at Keele University, FREE to all employees of Making Research Count partner organisations: that is all employees of Cheshire County Council, Staffordshire County Council, Stoke-on-Trent City Council. Implementating the White Paper Workshop

This workshop, which runs from 9 am until 1 pm, is directed towards managers within our local authority partner organisations. The morning will be led by speakers from IDeA and will consist of an update on research evidence followed by discussion of best practice for the implementation of recent white paper(s) within local government. Keele Centre for Social Gerontology

The conference will include a keynote address by Professor Carroll Estes on 'The Contribution of Critical Gerontology to Understanding Later Life'. It will also feature an Inaugural Lecture by Thomas Scharf, Professor of Social Gerontology, on 'The Extremes of Age: Challenging Poverty, Promoting Inclusion'.
